Moel Famau Walk June 2009
Despite optimistic weather forecasts, the clouds thickened and light drizzle broke out. We were in celebration mode though, as our academic editing ambitions had progressed during the week. We discussed contemporary pedagogies in pace with our climbing, tricky ideas sometimes clarified, and then sometimes eluding us in the forest shadows, as the path threaded through the mist. The three of us, Doris being our company, made light of the climb up through the trees. It's surprising how quickly Doris has become part of our lives, and her busy, cheery enthusiasm bestows pleasure on rainy walks. She's also becoming a mountain and running dog, fitting in well with our energetic schedules. Ruthin craft centre provided a great lunch - it's really transformed into a fab restauant. It's all in the detail - those leafy folded tea holders, tarragon reduction, and generously fruity bread pudding. Thanks to Mary Lloyd Jones for brightening our day with her show of vivid and brooding textile landscapes.
