Grasmere: December 2007

We stayed in the vegetarian hotel in Lancrigg near Grasmere in the Lakes during an extremely cold yet clear spell. We walked for two days, one of which was the winter solstice. The weather was the best one could hope for in the Lakes: gloriously frozen, yet warm in the sun on the summits. The food at Lancrigg was equally glorious, which made up for the power cuts; entertaining company too, with like-minded eccentrics. Return to Home Page
