| Using
Wengen as a base, we caught the train to Eigergletscher station and then
returned on foot to Wengen via Wengenalp. We breakfasted in the station
cafe with a panorama of the galciers. There followed a long downhill trek,
starting in the snows and galciers under the Eiger, and then making our
way through the flowery alpine meadows, arriving in the warmth of Wengen
late in the afternoon. The day before we had acclaimatised ourselves by
a walk to the Mannlichen and back from Klien Schiedegg station. |
