| We
set off on the train from Chester on this bright and fresh February morning.
Alighted at Delamere and set off over through the forest, but not before
visiting the tamed owls and eagles at the visitors' centre. Through the
fields we walked at a steady pace, this being our first long walk of the
year. Longer than we thought: Richard's optimistic 11 miles turned out to
be 14. As well as our first outing of the year it was also Doris's first
long walk of her life, at nine months old. The plucky little Spaniel didn't
flinch at the task, and cantered all the way, even on the lead along the
canal in Chester. Lunch was a cold affair, as the pub wouldn't let Doris
in, but being warm of heart we braved it with good cheer, helped by a little
ale. Return to Home Page |
